Sophie Kinsella es el pseudónimo de la escritora británica Madeleine Wickham, pseudónimo que utiliza para escribir las novelas de la serie Shopaholic (Loca por las compras, Loca por las compras en Manhattan, Loca por las compras prepara su boda, etc.). Nacida  el 12 de diciembre de 1969 en Londres, se educó en el Instituto Putney y se licenció en Filosofía y Ciencias Políticas y Económicas en la Universidad de Oxford, ejerciendo como docente y periodista financiera antes de dedicarse a la escritura y al piano. Se casó con el director de colegio Henry Wickham, con quien tiene tres hijos. Escribió su primera novela, The Tennis Party, con sólo 24 años, y desde entonces se ha convertido en un éxito de ventas tanto con las novelas escritas bajo pseudónimo como las que publica con su nombre real. Es una de las máximas exponentes del género conocido como “chick-lit”, dirigido a mujeres trabajadoras de entre 20 y 30 años.

Born December 12, 1969 in London, educated at the Institute Putney and graduated in philosophy and political science and economics at Oxford University, serving as teacher and financial journalist before turning to writing and the piano. She married the headmaster Henry Wickham, who has three children. He wrote his first novel, The Tennis Party, with only 24 years, and since then has become a bestseller both in the novels written under a pseudonym such as those published under his real name. It is one of the top exponents of the genre known as "chick-lit", aimed at working women between 20 and 30.

 Cuando leo libros , siempre me fijo en mis manos, me pinte las uñas con un color gris marron metalizado. Los libros que escogi para leer estas semanas son comedias romanticas contadas con mucho humor.
